Role Summary:
- Manage, maintain and support the company’s IT infrastructure.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively address potential problems to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Regularly update and patch systems to ensure they are protected against security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery planning to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Support and troubleshooting:
- Deploy and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Train employees regarding the use of IT systems, software, and security best practices.
- Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the company's data and infrastructure from unauthorized access, malware, and other cyber threats.
- Review security logs to identify potential security breaches and take appropriate actions to address them.
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends and technologies to ensure the company's systems are adequately protected.
- IT Infrastructure:
- Evaluate existing IT infrastructure and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance performance and scalability.
- Plan and execute the installation, configuration, and integration of new hardware and software solutions.
- Research and propose innovative technologies that could improve the company's IT environment.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with IT vendors to acquire necessary hardware, software, and ser-vices while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to service level agree-ments (SLAs).
- Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance and support services as required.
- Technical Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, proce-dures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate periodic reports on system performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics for management review.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 Years of experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role, demonstrating hands-on expertise in managing IT infrastructure and systems.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian etc.), virtualization technologies (VMware), network protocols, and storage solutions.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, firewall configurations, and other security measures to safeguard systems and data.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with users, team members, and management effectively.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with other IT professionals and departments.
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities efficiently.
- Proactive approach to system monitoring, performance optimization, and security enhancements.
